FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Absolutely not! You just need to know how to swim. Freediving is a sport accessible to all. We'll be delighted to help you discover the underwater world at your own pace.

If you have a physical handicap or other limitation, please don't hesitate to contact me. There is usually a way to work around or accommodate limitations, and my goal is to make freediving accessible to everyone, regardless of age, gender or physical condition.

For all courses, you need to be 18 years old (or 16 with parental consent), and have a medical certificate stating that you are fit to practice freediving (we can provide you with a model if required).

It's true that freediving has a reputation for being a risky sport. What is less well known is that these risks are calculated and very limited by the application of safety rules that we will teach you during your training. You may already be familiar with the first of these rules: NEVER DIVE ALONE.
During your training, we'll accompany you on your dives, and are of course ready to intervene if necessary.
This means that recreational freediving involves very little risk. In competitive freediving, where athletes work to push their limits, the risks are greater and safety procedures more stringent. As a result, in over 30 years of competition, there has only been one fatality.
In Martinique, there are still too many accidents among spearfishermen. That's why we're so keen to train this public, and we're delighted to see more of them every year.

Martinique is a paradise for freedivers. Warm water (from 26°C in winter to 31°C in summer), calm seas, few currents... Add to this a rich underwater biodiversity, and humpback whales a few months of the year (will you come and listen to them with us?).
Apart from your snorkeling sessions, enjoy rainforest hikes, river trips, canyoning, surfing, local gastronomy, discoveries of our historical and cultural heritage, encounters, sunsets with your feet in the sand... What more could you ask for?

You can sign up by contacting me via the CONTACT PAGE, INSTAGRAM or on Facebook.

I respond to social media, emails, etc... from 8am until 6pm Martinique time.

I'm always available for a call on Whatsapp. A phone call is a much better way to get a feel for the person before committing to spending money on their services.

A 30% deposit (non-refundable) is required to book a course or training.

If you cancel your course or wish to change your course dates, the deposit will not be refunded, but can be used as a deposit for another course or can be transferred to another person.

Full equipment includes mask, snorkel, fins, weight belt and wetsuit (despite Martinique's warm waters, you cool down very quickly when snorkeling). If you don't have your own equipment, we can rent it to you. Please contact us for more information.

Bring a bottle of water, appropriate sun cream and a snack.

Of course you can! We'll be happy to teach you how to compensate your ears. We don't practice apnea to hurt ourselves, so it's very important to learn the right gestures, and never to continue diving if you feel pain.

Even if smoking is absolutely not recommended, this in no way prevents you from practicing apnea. We're also here to teach you how to control your breath, and reveal your true abilities. Freediving is above all a mental sport, so you don't need to be athletic to practice.

Absolutely, just contact us and we'll suggest a formula suited to your child and his or her age.
